About this blog

My name is Vicki Wootton and I started this blog because I walk around with my eyes closed.

Or at least I must do.

I live in a country that is quite frankly drowning in history and that frolics in the warm depths of amazing and yet I never really notice any of it. Mainly because I'm always late - even when I start out an hour earlier than I need to, I am always still inevitably incredibly late! This causes me to rush. Everything, everywhere. I rush around so fast sometimes that I can see myself coming in the opposite direction. I long ago learnt how to inhale my food to save time and have now mastered the art of the hop in hop out shower!

I'm fed up of rushing! In rushing I've missed out on just enjoying the world I live in. Sad face!

And so, I have decreed that for at least one day a week......or month....or every couple of months...I will drop down into second gear and cruise for a while, taking in the beautiful sites of Britain. The museums, the attractions, the spas (ooh yes the spas), the public gardens and the cosy little vintage tea shops. Basically the world beyond my garden gate.

There will be cake.......lots of cake....and hopefully a few ideas for you to take on board for when you take your own time out to drop down a few gears too.

Happy reading x
